Another Way to Help

We are all extremely proud of our wonderful home, Unitarian House.  This is demonstrated in many ways: by the willingness of our volunteers who donate so many hours to make our lives more enjoyable, by the dedication of our staff, and by the day-to-day activities of our residents who truly make Unitarian House their home.  Of course, we would be remiss if we failed to mention the many donations and bequests received over the years since the dream of Unitarian House was first conceived.  These monies have enabled us to undertake many important initiatives such as: purchasing a new van, installing the generator to keep things running in an emergency (remember the ice storm?), building our new activity room, renovating the second floor and providing financial assistance to those in need.  All this has been made possible by the generosity of our donors.

Now, like all of us, Unitarian House is growing older.  Yes, buildings do wear out and sometimes require major repair!  They also require constant upgrading to make sure, in our case, that we have the very best to make our chosen home as comfortable and up-to-date as our resources permit.  This all takes money.  Our rents are fixed by government and we are a not-for-profit institution leaving us little discretionary money over and above our normal maintenance needs.  So we must rely on fundraising to keep our home vibrant and strong. 

If you would like to make a contribution by cheque, you can do so by sending your donation to: Unitarian House, 20 Cleary Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario K2A 3Z9.  You will receive your tax receipt by mail.

If you would like to make a credit card donation, please click the button on the left of the screen and follow the instructions.  This service is provided, free of charge, by a charitable organization called "CanadaHelps.org".  

The only cost to Unitarian House is the minimum credit card fee itself of 1.85%.  

This service is sponsored by the major banks and some large Canadian corporations.  The tax receipt format has been approved by the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency.  

You will receive an immediate electronic tax receipt from CanadaHelps.org showing that you made your donation to Unitarian House.  Your donation will be transferred electronically to our bank account.
